Bodhon ("the app", "we", "us") is a community app used by residents and committee members of a Durga Puja / festival community to view event schedules, share photos, redeem coupons, and receive announcements from their community's organizing committee. This page explains what information the app collects, why, and how you can request it be removed.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, and either a phone number (for OTP sign-in) or an email address (for email or Google sign-in).
- Community membership — which festival community ("Puja") you've joined, and your role within it (resident, committee member, etc.).
- Photos you upload — images you choose to add to a community's festival gallery.
- Coupon / attendance records — if your community uses the coupon feature, a record of coupon issuance and redemption tied to your account.
We do not collect location data, contacts, or browsing history, and the app has no advertising or analytics SDKs.
How we use this information
- To create and secure your account, and sign you in.
- To connect you to the correct festival community and show you that community's events, announcements, and gallery.
- To display photos you've chosen to upload in that community's shared gallery.
- To let your community's committee manage coupons, headcounts, and announcements.
Who can see your information
Your name and role are visible to the committee members (admins) of the same festival community you've joined — this is how a community runs its coupon and access features. Photos you upload to a gallery are visible to other members of that same community, not the public internet or other unrelated communities.
Third-party services
Bodhon is built on Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions), operated by Google. Firebase stores and processes the information above on our behalf, encrypted in transit. If you sign in with Google, Google Sign-In shares your name, email, and profile photo with the app per your Google account permissions. We do not sell your information or share it with advertisers.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account and associated data, email us at vntkckbt17@gmail.com with the phone number or email address you signed up with. We'll confirm once your data has been removed.
Children's privacy
Bodhon is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
